About

Since 2008.
Still Curious.

Jens Supan is a Global SEO and AI Search specialist based near Stuttgart, Germany. Over 17 years he has built expertise across agencies, in-house teams, international e-commerce, and now global brand environments.

The Career Arc

The career started in 2008, in a digital agency, where SEO meant keyword stuffing, link building, and hoping the next algorithm update would be kind. It wasn't always kind. That forced a shift toward fundamentals: relevance, authority, technical health, content quality. The things that actually last.

Over the following years, the work moved across agencies and in-house teams, through international e-commerce environments where SEO decisions had direct revenue consequences. International site structures, hreflang, crawl budget, migration planning — the technical layer became as important as the strategic one.

The current chapter is Bosch Power Tools: global SEO strategy, AI-driven content workflows, and the organizational challenge of making search intelligence scalable across a global team. The work here is both strategic and operational — setting direction and building the systems that sustain it.

The Current Focus

The most consequential shift in search since the mobile era is happening now. ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews are changing the shape of the search experience — not incrementally, but structurally. A query that once returned ten links now returns a synthesized answer citing two or three sources.

Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is the discipline that addresses this shift. It's not a replacement for classic SEO — it's an extension of it, applied to a different kind of retrieval system. The fundamentals still apply: relevance, authority, clarity, structure. But the implementation looks different.

Jens works on GEO operationally: building frameworks for AI-readiness evaluation, designing content structures that work for both crawlers and language models, and creating agentic AI workflows that help teams produce AI-optimized content at scale.

The Approach

Most SEO expertise is bottlenecked at the specialist. The question that drives the work is not just "what should we optimize?" but "how do we build the infrastructure to keep optimizing, consistently, at scale?"

That means designing systems, workflows, and enablement tools that move search intelligence into the hands of content teams, marketers, and business stakeholders — without requiring an SEO specialist to be in every meeting.

The goal is simple: connect human expertise with smart systems so that brands can become more visible, useful, and trustworthy in the moments when people search, compare, and decide.
